Plus One ADU
Looking to grow your home?Think: ADU
An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) is an additional housing unit on your property. It can be attached to your home, such as a finished basement apartment, or detached, like a converted garage or a new backyard cottage.
Through the Plus One ADU Program, Hudson River Housing provides grants of up to $125,000 to help low- to moderate-income homeowners construct or renovate code-compliant ADUs—expanding affordable housing options in our community.
💡 Why it matters:
More affordable housing in our community.
Extra income opportunities for homeowners.
Flexible space for family, friends, or tenants.
To qualify for the Plus One ADU Program, you must:
Meet income eligibility guidelines
Own and live in the home where the ADU will be built
Please note: vacation homes and second homes are not eligible. Additional requirements may also apply.
Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis, so early submission is encouraged.
Whether your goal is to create a safe place for family or to generate extra income, Hudson River Housing is here to guide you through the process.
