Hudson River Housing’s Emergency Housing programs provide immediate, short-term shelter and support services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing crises. These programs serve as a critical safety net for those with nowhere else to turn—offering a secure, supportive environment while working to identify and transition individuals into more stable housing options.
The primary purpose of Emergency Housing is to meet the urgent need for shelter while also addressing the root causes of housing instability. Through case management, housing navigation, and connections to essential services like mental health care, job training, and public benefits, HRH equips participants with the tools and support needed to begin rebuilding their lives. Emergency Housing is often the first step in a continuum of care that prioritizes dignity, stability, and long-term self-sufficiency.

TH offers a stepping stone for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, providing a safe, supportive environment where they can stabilize, heal, and begin working toward long-term independence. At Hudson River Housing, our TH programs are designed to empower residents with the tools and resources needed to move into and maintain permanent housing. During their stay (up to two years) residents work closely with Care Managers to develop individualized plans focused on goals like employment, education, and overall well-being. Staff help residents apply for benefits, find jobs, reconnect with community supports, and access critical services such as healthcare, mental health care, and substance use treatment. By addressing the root causes of homelessness and offering a structured path to stability, HRH helps households build a foundation for lasting change.

PSH is a long-term solution for individuals and families who have experienced chronic homelessness and face ongoing challenges such as mental health conditions, disabilities, or substance use. At Hudson River Housing, PSH provides safe, affordable housing paired with voluntary, wraparound support services to help residents remain housed and thrive. Our Care Managers work alongside residents to build stability and independence over time. Services may include case management, healthcare and treatment referrals, life skills coaching, and help accessing public benefits or employment opportunities. With no time limits on tenancy and a focus on personal growth, PSH at HRH offers not just a home—but a foundation for lasting change.
