Youth Services

River Haven Street-Based Outreach Program

The Street Outreach Team directly reaches out to vulnerable runaway, homeless, and street-involved youth throughout Dutchess County to assist them in moving to safer environments, meeting their basic needs, and obtaining needed services.  In addition to rescuing teens from the streets and other areas that serve as makeshift shelter, the Team provides information, referrals and counseling to prevent other youth from falling victim to the dangers that characterize street life. The Outreach Team makes over 1,200 contacts each year and regularly conducts presentations and distributes information to increase awareness of available resources for at-risk youth.
