The River Haven shelter is a voluntary program designed to address the emergency needs of runaway and homeless youth and their families. The Shelter provides crisis intervention services, individual, group and family counseling and emergency shelter accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Through its services, River Haven aims to:

  • Provide a safe alternative to the streets for at risk youth.
  • Reunite young people with their families.
  • Prevent unnecessary or premature placement of youth outside of their homes.
  • Secure appropriate living arrangements for youth who cannot live at home.
  • Link young people and their families to resources within the community.

Shelter & Crisis Center - River Haven operates a 12-bed state certified shelter providing short-term housing for males and females ages 10 through 17 who are:

  • At risk of running away or becoming homeless
  • Actively involved in a runaway homeless episode.
  • Experiencing difficulty living independently.

The River Haven crisis center and shelter is staffed around the clock to provide immediate response to crisis situations.
