Empowering IndependenceIndependent living behavior is reinforced with in-house programming and the use of appropriate community resources. We focus on connecting Maximize residents with GED and/or job programs. If appropriate, we also link residents to mental health support services through the local Department of Mental Hygiene, which offers targeted group and individual counseling on a wide variety of issues. Eligibility and Client ResponsibilityEligible families include those that are homeless or in danger of becoming homeless due to an imminent eviction, discharge from transitional housing, or condemned housing. Participants must be able to handle personal care needs and be willing to keep regular appointments with the case worker and other human service agencies. Participants must demonstrate the desire to achieve independent living through a commitment to a service plan. The service plan is designed to meet the personal needs of each client. For more information, please call (845) 452-5197.
