There are 39 single rooms, 11 double rooms, 5 small apartments and one 3-bedroom apartments. The single rooms share eight community bathrooms (much like college dorm living). The double rooms and apartments have private bathrooms. Each room is furnished and has individually controlled heating. The Hillcrest House philosophy is one of transition within the building… residents grow and "move up" from single rooms, to double rooms, and to apartments as they progress toward independent living. Hillcrest House is intended for formerly homeless single adults or two-adult families aged 18 or older. The maximum length of stay is 24 months. The monthly rate varies with the resident's income level. A security deposit is required. A meal plan and support services are provided to all residents. There is ample parking and mass transit is nearby. Front desk coverage is provided 24 hours a day. Residents are encouraged to participate in the Resident's Council, which meets on a regular basis to discuss ideas, express opinions, etc. Hillcrest House has a day room and two laundry rooms. For more information, or to apply, please call (845) 452-5197.
