Hudson River Housing relies on the generosity of individuals in our community, like you, who believe in our mission and in the power to make a difference in the lives of others. HRH offers a wide variety of volunteer, intern, and career opportunities. We welcome you to give just a few hours of your time, become a regular volunteer with us, or inquire about becoming a part of our team.

Wind Chill Fund Campaign

In recognition of our 30th anniversary in 2012, we have set a goal of raising $30,000 during our 2011-2012 Wind Chill Fund campaign. This campaign will span the winter season, when so many of those we serve are most in need. Help us meet our goal! Make a donation today using our secure online system.

Here's a snapshot of just a few of the things we have accomplished this year:

Completed construction of a brand-new, state of the art 15 bed emergency shelter for youth ages 10-17;
Participated in the creation, implementation, and tracking of the Dutchess County 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness, which completed its first year in June 2011;
Successfully completed our second NY Main Street grant, which provided $200,000 in funding to properties in the Upper Mill Street Historic District;
Acquired and began rehabilitation on 34 homeowner and rental housing units, including 10 foreclosed properties purchased through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program;
Invested over $500,000 in energy upgrades to housing throughout Dutchess County through the Weatherization Program;
Received funding from the Dyson Foundation to provide technical assistance and advocacy services to assist four northeastern Dutchess municipalities develop affordable housing ordinances;
Held an Open House to introduce our services and new satellite housing counseling location within the Northeast Community Center in Millerton, NY to customers and partners;
Continued operation of our core programs and services for the homeless, including the Dutchess County Coalition for the Homeless, Hillcrest House, Gannett House, and others, serving over 1,000 individuals and households.
